Revenge. It all comes down to revenge in the end. The vengeance of a son who lost a father. The retribution of a betrayed company of men against an unacceptable leader.
To avenge the death of a father, a son might have to wait years, but that hatred simmers within him. As the years tick by and his need for action is stemmed, the desire for revenge grows until it can no longer be contained, looking only for a catalyst to make his heart's desire a reality.
Retribution is required when a man, unfit and undeserving of the honor, is raised up in position and power to become a member of the Triumvirate, the leadership of the pirates and a council position held only by pirates. Now, however, a merchant and an explorer has been named to a seat and won the required challenge necessary to secure that position. The same man who twenty years before won the enemity and hatred of a son. Suddenly two separate causes become one.
Revenge leads to the waters of Parnassus and Irha-Esh. The pirates united as never before by the hatred of a son bent on destroying one man, their common enemy. Upon the rich backdrop of two trading cities on the horizon lies both their common foe and riches beyond belief. It was only a matter of time until they would strike and make those riches their own. And for that son, now a pirate captain, who saw his father brought down those many years ago by that explorer, there is only one thing on his mind ...
