Foreign Races

Throughout the course of the game the ships will run across new races, some seen or discussed in Aether I and Aether II, others are brand new to the game. While these races will not be as thoroughly fleshed out as the original races, there will still be a good deal of information created about them so that those playing these characters for a temporary period can do so believably. This page will document those races we have met, but for the sake of secrecy we will not post information about races until we encounter them.

These news files will be for the general knowledge of the players, but unless you have studied them for a while, do not assume you know everything about a race. This is especially true about races no one on the ship has even heard about before (and of those we hope there will be many.) If you believe your character has had some contact with a specific race in the past, please speak with staff.

The Aesir: The Aesir are a race of northern "Empyreans," whose culture is heavily based on Norse, Germanic, and Teutonic mythology. They live in the cold, wintry climates of the far north -- the Aether equivalents of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

The Najada: The Najada are a race of Atlanteans who live in the cold icy waters of the Arctic, far north of the world known to those that live and work in the port city of Haven. They know little of their southern brethren, and little is known of them, for they prefer the isolation afforded them in the world of almost constant ice and snow.

Raven's Cove: Not a new race, but rather a new town that has not been encountered before. This mongrel-heavy society lives on the coast of what we know of as Ireland.

The Rusalki: The Rusalki are a race unto themselves, they are a race of halfbreeds, something odd enough in its own right. From whence they came, no one quite knows, although they are descendants of both the Aesir and the Najada.
