Timeline

If you would like to see the timeline of the world, you can find it on the Aether II website: Aether Timeline

For the Odyssey, a timeline will be kept, similar to a ship's log, to document where the ships traveled and when. This will include large events like encountering a new race, or smaller things, such as a sickness on the ship or a challenge between two sailors for a more senior position. Events will be taken from roleplay and news posts to the boards, if you have an event that you think should be added, please contact staff.

The timeline will begin with the initial departure from Parnassus.

May 8, 3931: The Amarada and Makara depart from the cities of Parnassus and Irha-Esh.

May 14, 3931: Lexa, a mongrel cyprian well-known at The Naughty Nereus in Parnassus, is found stowed away in the Amarada's cargo hold. The captain orders her locked in the brig until a decision can be made on her fate.

May 26, 3931: The two ships reach the mongrel town of Raven's Cove on their way north to the Aesir lands.

July 20-22, 3931: The Amarada and Makara mistakenly indentify The Defiant, a friendly vessel and fellow member of the Buccaneers, as a pirate foe. An attack ensues, but is quickly stopped as the two captains recognize each other.

August 2, 3931: Sailor Aurelio challenged the second officer of the Makara for his position, pointing out several moments of laxity on the part of the officer. Per the rules of the Code, the two sailors were put to a number of tasks and duties and scenarios with Mister Burke and Captain Xaverius as judges to their speed, accuracy, skill, and reasoning abilities. By the end was decided that the second officer indeed was not able to hold his own as capably as seasoned sailor Aurelio, and the position of second officer of the Makara was passed on to the colorful Empyrean.

August 3-7, 3931: The two ships arrive in the Aesir trading town of Njororn, only to find the town apparently deserted, but otherwise intact. Further exploration reveals countless bodies of the town's women and children (along with a few men) stored in sealed stalls in one of the town's barns. The crews searched for more clues as to what happened to the city's warriors while a large pyre was erected and the dead were given a proper funeral. The captain decided to fly to Idavoll himself and explain what they had found.

August 10, 3931: While the funeral pyre burned, the members of the crew were attacked in Njororn by scouting Aesir warriors from the city of Idavoll. Confusion and anger led to a fight between crew members and the Aesir before the arrival of Mister Burke, who spoke the Aesir language. Tensions remained between Aesir and the crew as the situation was explained and the Aesir were invited to stay aboard the Amarada until either three days had passed or some word arrived from Idavoll, whichever came first.

August 19, 3931: The two ships, along with the Aesir longboat The Skelfing, arrive in the city of Idavoll. The southerners are allowed entrance into the city, but are closely watched at all time.

August 21, 3931: A few of the city's Jarls come down to the docks on behalf of the Hoevding (Chieftan) to discuss matters with the crew members and try to establish some kind of understanding. The captain is still being held at this time, but assurances are given that he is not being treated poorly. A sort of truce is established between the two groups and while the southerners offer their help in finding out what happened in Njororn, the Aesir demand that the help be given.
