  06-22-99: The betrothal-party of Chana-Cari and Zafir is held in the courtyard of Atesh-Gah, and the vaisya Clan, Al'Samar, goes all out for the festivities: including a parade through Haven's streets, dancing, a hound race, an artwork display, and general feasting and merriment.

  03-25-99: The reception after the marriage of Khalid Atar and Thalia Tritonides features feasting, dancing, conversation, and a dazzling fire-show created by the God-King's Atarvani.

  03-25-99: Khalid Atar, the God-King of the Varati and the "Divine Flame of Heaven," takes a wife at last; finding his equal in Thalia Jovia Tritonides, a noble-woman from one of the premier Houses in the Empyre.

  03-08-99: Khalid Atar passes judgment on Madame Rani Rajan for her crimes of treason and blasphemy, though he allows the former shechah the dignity of choosing her own punishment.

  01-20-99: A second sun dawns on the battlefield and the Empyre is forever changed.

  01-14-99: The God-King of the Varati, Khalid, tells a trusted halfbreed follower a tale of yet another non-Varati vassal of his of many years ago. This is an example of legend in which a particularly heroic female has been able to serve as a warrior within the Varati society despite her gender.

  12-29-98: The Varati God-King visits the household of his Serakier, Faisal, for supper, and it is at this time that the Seraskier's son chooses to be born. Khalid attends the birth himself and has a prophecy to make about the newborn.

  12-27-98: A scene at court which, although rather atypical in that non-Varati are recognized, still gives the reader a good sense of what goes on when the God-King is granting audience.
• Forever Varati I Shall Be: 18K
  12-17-98: A lost Empyrean child finds refuge among the Varati and swears allegiance to the God-King.
• Assassination of the Khaliph: 43K
  12-17-98: Murder most foul on the streets of Haven.

  11-14-98: Two powerful, proud men find themselves facing off over dinner.

  07-29-98: In exchange for honor done to him by Rashid's uncle, Adham Kedhav offers the young man his choice of his daughters.
• Dispute Over a Slave: Ishmael and Cassius disagree over ownership of a slave before the leader of the Hounds, Cepheus.
• A Varati Wedding: Note that some of the background information pertaining to this logfile has been changed (in particular, the Agni-Haidar do not marry). However, it's still a good example and inspiration for those planning an IC wedding.
