What must I be to honor me as much as I do you?
Flame to flame,
equal under the laws of man and nature.
I burn;
Can you stand my fire?

I request a hearing of the gods!
His and mine.
Hear this one,
so low and fallen from Your grace.
Mighty Ones, oh, turn Your face to me!

It is not mercy I require
but blood to blood.
My passions will be extinguished
In fire.

In all humility, I stand and reckon my expense.
It is not high, and I abide by your will.
I ask for flame,
And a man to stand the pyre.
I will abide nature's law and thine,
When such a man is mine.
