Aether Noir was a joke pulled for April Fool's day, wherein the staff decided to change the theme for a weekend, to the gangster era of the 1930's and 40's. The game was set in Chicago, and focused on crime and justice, and the interplay between cop and criminal. Prohibition, speakeasies, tommy-guns, gangsters, the mafia... all this and more could be found within "Aether Noir." The idea was to create a gritty world full of corruption and vice, and to see whether or not justice would prevail. The following logs, links, and descriptions will give you an idea of the atmosphere of Aether Noir. Roleplay Logs:Ever considered how your character might translate into a different theme? On Aether, for April Fool's day, distinctions between race, class, caste, and faction were erased, and most people were either cop or criminal -- good guy or bad; though a rare few walked a fine line between the two. Here are some logs, sent in by players and staff, that showcase various characters during the height of the gangster during the 1930's and 40's. And they just prove the old adage that... the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Related Links:The following links were gleaned from various places on the web while the staff were researching the late 1930's and early 1940's. Special mention should go to Puck, who compiled a special radio broadcast for the occasion, featuring songs from that era.
Descriptions:Folks went all out for Aether Noir, and re-desced their characters and even rooms on the grid for the occasion. The following list features some of the descriptions that were submitted for posterity -- and entertainment.
