Maps of the Known World:The world of Aether is sometimes said to be a "mirror image" of Earth. Take that comment literally, and you have a world that looks something like this version created by Luna@Aether. Note that the black rectangle represents the "known world" of the game's inhabitants.   As a closer look, Luna also created the representation below. She used the maps currently in existence on Aether's War page, created by both Lysander and Anubis, yet they had to be adjusted in order to fit the new locale. Originally, Haven and its surrounding environs were said to be located on Aether's version of North America. But after some consideration, the staff thought that the area of the Mediterranean would be more suitable, given the strong Graeco-Roman and Middle Eastern influences on the game. Therefore, the following version is the closest we have to an "official" one. Its boundaries are rough, and the provinces and territories for each race still need to be more firmly delineated. But as of September 25, 1999, this is the game's official map, and previous renditions, such as those used in the war, are assumed to be inaccurate due to misinformed cartographers.
