The staff of Aether have been working since November of 1996 to create and develop an ideal environment for roleplay. Collectively, the staff review applications, assist new players, and handle any administrative issues that crop up. • Aker: Egyptian personification of the earth and god of the underworld.

• Bat Kol: Hebrew for "Daughter of the Voice." The sages taught that the bat kol, a voice from heaven, was frequently heard among the ancient Israelites.

Most MUSHes pay lip service to the idea of creating a game "for the players," but the staff at Aether would like to make this idea a reality. After all, a MUSH is nothing without its players. So while being a member of the staff can be a privilege, it is more importantly a duty. These duties include keeping in touch with the desires and needs of the players, responding promptly to requests and applications, maintaining the code and a stable site, and generally making sure the game runs smoothly and efficiently. This does not mean we will give the players everything they want and end up sacrificing the theme of the game, but we will do our best to integrate the players' wishes and needs based on what we believe is best for Aether.
